2015 Thea's Selection
Pinot Noir - 93 pts
As our house cuvee, Thea’s Selection is a blend of fruit sourced from all seven of our organic, estate vineyards that span three different Willamette Valley AVAs. As such, it is a wonderful representation of the vintage across all of our sites. The nose is inviting with black cherry, red currant and blackberry fruit that is nuanced by subtle spice notes of black licorice, black tea, cinnamon and graham cracker. The rich, silky tannins give in to a long and robust finish that leaves the taste of strawberries and cocoa lingering on the palate. Drink now or, better still, wait 6-8 years.
93 pts – There is a wealth of dried lavender on the nose of this pinot noir as well as herbs, vanilla and red plums. The palate is nicely fresh but with plenty of red apple fruit, grainy tannins and a fruity, chewy finish. Drink in 2020. - James Suckling
91 pts – Expressive black cherry and forest floor aromas open to refined and balanced dark raspberry, bitter chocolate and spice flavors that finish with minerally tannins. Drink now through 2023. - Wine Spectator
90 pts. – Deep vivid red. Aromas of black raspberry, cherry pit and pungent flowers pick up hints of licorice and succulent herbs with aeration. Juicy and broad in the mouth, offering bitter cherry and dark berry flavors that pick up a spicy nuance and become more energetic on the back half. The floral note repeats on a long, gently tannic finish that shows no rough edges. - Vinous (Josh Raynolds)
