2016 Jerome Reserve Pinot noir
Pinot noir - 93 pts

Jerome Reserve Pinot noir is a collection of the best 15 barrels of the vintage. In most years, it is a blend made up of barrels from our top blocks across all three of the AVAs we farm. 2016 was different, though. The Wadenswil clone planted in Yamhill-Carlton, especially at Stermer Vineyard, did incredibly well and constitutes a majority of this blend giving it robust texture, spice and earthiness. To round it off, a few barrels of Dijon 777 from Dundee Hills were added for their juiciness and perfumed red fruit character. The resulting wine exudes black fruit along with dark chocolate, anise and tobacco leaf undertones. It shows amazing structure that leads into a long and complete finish. This is definitely a bottle that will age well into the next decade.
